Special Issue

Journal of Medical Systems, JOMS

As already confirmed by the editor in chief, Dr. Jesse Ehrenfeld, Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, USA, a special issue on information systems in biomedical research is planned for the Journal of Medical Systems. This journal, published by Springer, Berlin, has a high reputation and was given an impact factor (IF) of 2.456 in 2016. To avoid double publication and self-plagiarism, the authors can choose the following options when submitting their revised work to the conference, after the paper has been accepted:

  • They prepare a proceedings paper according to the EFMI guidelines, which will then be included in the conference proceedings without any further review.
  • They prepare a one-page abstract that will be included in the conference proceedings and a manuscript that will be passed to JOMS. Such manuscripts will be evaluated in a blinded review process and may or may not be included into the special issue of JOMS. If the paper is rejected in JOMS, inclusion to the conference proceedings is not an option anymore.
